Little Exbury is a newly renovated and refurbished cottage in the New Forest. It has two bedrooms with king-sized double beds and en-suite bathrooms (one with a shower and the other with a bath that is just large enough for 2) and an open plan living area with a kitchen containing all mod-cons. There is a dining area for 4, luxurious chairs by a wood-burner, a TV, and, of course, WiFi throughout. Tall people will need to beware that this 18th century cottage has some low ceilings in places and the stairs are steep and narrow.
Small dogs are very welcome, large dogs sadly not, as there are free-range chickens that have the run of the farm and there are game rearing pens nearby, (the cottage next door is home to Exbury's gamekeeper.)
Little Exbury is situated next to a working livestock farm, down a long gravel track and overlooks the Beaulieu River with the Isle of Wight in the distance. The marshland is a haven for many species of birds.
The village of Exbury is situated in the southern part of the New Forest National Park, and is the home to the wondrous world-famous Exbury Gardens. Beaulieu, with its National Motor Museum, is 5 miles away, and Bucklers Hard, famous for its maritime heritage is also within easy reach.
The nearest shops, a chemist, 2 mini supermarkets (Tesco and Sainsbury's) are in Blackfield 3 miles away. The nearest Waitrose is in Hythe, the best Waitrose is in the charming town of Lymington. The seaside is close-by, great for windsurfers and exploring D-Day relics, with Lepe Country Park, which will boast a new Bistro-on-the-Beach restaurant by summer 2018.
